The Rewarded Dream Pisces There is an overwhelming sense that one has stumbled on an intensely private moment. This is the representation of the shy and dreamy characteristics of Pisces. The figure regards herself in a clear pool, gently breaking the surface with a pewter coin. Like the two fish of Pisces mythology, bound together so as not to loose one another, she touches her reflection clinging to herself with vulnerability. There are two directions in this dual sign. The figure looks down as her reflection looks up – they are responsive to the thoughts and feelings of each other. The Pisces colours of pale green, purple, rose and grey blue are restful and feminine. The white poppy in her hand and the orchids in her hair, both Pisces flowers, echo the peaceful, private space that she occupies. The twelve lustrous pearls in the figure’s bracelet have an immense purity. They illustrate Pisces as being the twelfth sign of the zodiac – a sign often known as ‘Dreamy Pisces’ and taken from the Latin for ‘fish’. Pisceans are governed by the planet Jupiter, the ruler of the ancient gods and bringer of luck. We watch as Pisces here toys with a coin, dipping it gently into her element of Water. It is as if she knows that luck is already hers and she need not let go. The Pisces constellation is seen reaching towards her in the trees as if to caress her shoulder. She regards the pool before her with great interest, waiting for it to reveal its secrets. Pisceans thirst for knowledge and understanding and despite their shyness have many ways of communicating. There is however a slight reticence in her face, showing her highly emotional characteristics of vulnerability and melancholy.
