The work of Michael Jackson has been variously described as elegantly eccentric, thought-provoking and unique. Reflecting both his classical and modern interests, his diverse and individual oeuvre fuses the natural and the conceptual with flawless technique to create works that are both provocative and dramatic. His influences include the Renaissance, the masters of the nineteenth century, and many figures from the contemporary art world, and his subject matter is equally varied. Life in all its multiplicity is the inspiration for his work which ranges from informal portraiture to quirky stainless steel sculpture.
In 2004 Michael set up his home and studio in south west France and has devoted himself to honing his skills across a range of media. His creative quest has led him to travel the world in pursuit of his passion for observation and interpretation. A committed conservationist, he has raised over 250,000 for charities such as Fauna & Flora International, The Rainforest Foundation, Care for the Wild and the NSPCC.
