The art of Miguel Nuñez artwork has all the poise, realism, depth and texture of the finest still life. He strives to capture real moments in time in his arresting paintings which summon the simple beauty and timeless elegance of such classic subjects as a glass of wine, or a slice of lemon. His masterly juxtaposition of light and shadow, his fascination with the reflective qualities of that light, his stunning use of colour and his graceful technique render each image exceptional and lifelike, in some cases seeming to reveal more that we would see with our own eyes.
Miguel was born in Uruguay in 1966. From a young age he was fascinated by drawing and began studying the work of local painter, Manolo Lima. He went on to develop his extraordinary talent in a series of art before being awarded a prestigious scholarship from the Arauco Foundation in Madrid. He has continued to base himself at the Foundation where he works alongside Guillermo Muñoz Vera and revered artist Antonio López. He has also been appointed to the position of professor at the Municipal School of Visual Arts.
Whether you prefer a tempting glass of red wine or a bowl of sharp green apples, one of these hyper-realistic paintings will add a soupcon of luxury and elegance to any interior. They have won Miguel some prestigious private and corporate collectors across South America and Europe, where he has successfully exhibited and sold his work for many years.
