New collection from Barry Hilton

Barry’s new collection is a stunning take on the genre of landscape. He builds up each composition in layers to give a remarkable, almost ethereal feeling of depth and intensity that connects with the emotions of the viewer. Over the years he has painted many memorable landscapes in which his smooth, finely painted skies contrast with the heavy impasto techniques of the land as it appears in his highly coloured foreground. It is the atmosphere and the shading that he is interested in capturing in these works which do not duplicate the actual colours of the landscape, but rather convey the creative imagination of a genuine and artistic talent.
