Introducing Marcus Botbol

Marcus Botbol grew up in the cosmopolitan city of Ramla in Israel. He describes the diverse character of the city’s population and culture as ‘a kaleidoscope – a colourful mosaic that has proved to be a lifelong source of inspiration.’ His first UK collection is built around the ideas of liberty and diversity, and the butterflies which are such a significant part of his work are powerful symbols of freedom and transformation.  Created as aluminium wall sculpture, these uplifting statement pieces are painted in a vibrant double-layered metallic palette and finished in a gleaming hand applied varnish, which accentuates the vitality of the painted shapes and figures.
