We are pleased to welcome Rich Parker to the Whitewall portfolio. Richard’s dramatic, large scale female portraits make a powerful impact and are worthy centrepieces in any setting. Born in Nottingham in 1971, Rich is primarily self-taught, although as the grandson of an artist he spent much of his childhood looking at paintings in galleries museums and stately homes, or creating his own work in his grandfather’s studio. Painting with energy and spontaneity he seeks to capture the essence of his sitter and while their features are closely observed, the wider contours of the faces merge into their backgrounds with blurring and drips and trails of paint, which takes them onto the fringes of abstraction.
