Zeitgeist: Spectacular mixed media statements from Diederik van Apple

Diederik’s show-stopping artworks tap into the zeitgeist by speaking to many of the biggest cultural issues of contemporary life. As a child growing up in the Netherlands, he immersed himself in stories and films, often finding it difficult to draw the line between fantasy and reality. From Disney cartoons to cult movies, he revelled in a world of magical entertainment that was to inform his entire artistic future. Influenced by Pop Art, he is also a huge admirer of those artists who bring humour and fun into their artworks and defy the accepted conventions, such as Banksy, Andy Warhol and Salvador Dalí. Diederik’s fascinating work combines a whole array of media, including photographs, aluminium, diamonds and many more unexpected elements and has been shown to great acclaim across Europe, the Middle East and the USA.
